Abstract

POTENTIAL ANALYSIS OF ONION BUSINESS POTENTIAL TO INCREASE FARMERS INCOME IN SUMBERANYAR VILLAGE, PAITON DISTRICT, PROBOLINGGO REGENCY ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine whether the potential of shallots can increase farmers' income and to find out how that affects the income of shallot farmers in Sumberanyar Village, Paiton District, Probolinggo Regency. The data used are primary data obtained from interviews related to shallot cultivation and what influences the income of shallot farmers. Interview results were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques and purposive sampling. The potential of onion farming can increase the income of farmers in Sumberanyar Village, Paiton District, Probolinggo Regency, namely the income earned is 3 times more than the initial capital issued. What affects the income of shallot farmers in Sumberanyar Village, Probolinggo Regency, in addition to planting shallots using bulbs with the type of shallots that have become the prima donna of Sumberanyar Village, treatment with pest and weather anticipation using mosquito nets and lights also has a major influence on the success of shallot production.
