Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the size of the contribution of the manufacturing sector to the economy and employment in Jember Regency during 2010 to 2019. This research was conducted for three months starting from May 2020 to July 2020 in Jember Regency, the data used in this study are data. secondary obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of Jember Regency. This analysis uses the analysis of the Labor Multiplier Number, Shift-share and Labor Elasticity using the GRDP and the number of workers. The results of this study indicate that the state of growth in the manufacturing sector in the economy and employment is included in the fast group with a net shift value of 162,316.21 for the economy and 51,235,648 for job opportunities with a population that continues to increase every year. The contribution of the manufacturing sector in the economy and the large absorption of labor show that the manufacturing sector is an important sector in Jember Regency. The manufacturing sector as one of the sectors that plays an important role in the economy is expected to be a sector capable of absorbing a large number of workers
