Abstract
ABSTRACT Suhil (1610121) with the title of thesis "Analysis of the Potential Income of Salt Farmers (Study in Karanganyar Village, Kalianget District, Sumenep Regency) under the guidance of Drs. FARID WAHYUDI, M.Kes as the main supervisor and Mr. MUSTOFA, SE, M.Si as assistant supervisor. The purpose of this study was to calculate the income of salt farmers in the study area. To identify the internal and external factors that influence income in the research area, to determine strategies for increasing income in the research area. The method of analysis used in this study is the SWOT analysis. The research results were obtained, 1). The amount of income of salt farmers in Karanganyar Village, Kalianget District, Sumenep Regency is an average of 7,745,455 per week with an average production of 12.9 per week 2). Strength factors consist of abundant raw materials, simple salt production equipment so that it is easy to obtain, land suitability, wastewater from the salt production process, there is still potential if an increase in production is carried out, the experience of salt farmers is carried out in decline 3). Weakness factors consist of very high dependence on weather / climate factors, salt products averaging 4-5 months (production period), traditional process technology, most salt farmers do not have storage sheds, low security in salt pond areas and abrasion 4). Opportunity factors consist of the application of new technology, technology for utilizing wastewater, the existence of an intensification assistance program, the existence of facilities for technical assistants, the implementation of training and counseling 5). Threat factors consist of season (rainfall), contamination of sea water as raw material, entry and expansion of imported salt into the local market, the influence of middlemen is very dominant, and the absence of salt quality standards.
