Abstract
ABSTRACT Generation Z is often perceived as a dynamic cohort, inclined to change jobs frequently. However, a different picture emerges among Generation Z teachers in SD/MI schools in Srono District, who demonstrate a strong commitment to remain in their profession. This study seeks to explore in greater depth the factors underlying such loyalty, focusing on the role of employee engagement and the ways in which job satisfaction and organizational commitment act as bridges that strengthen the intention to stay. Employing a quantitative approach, the research involved distributing questionnaires and analyzing the data using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that teachers’ engagement in their work has a positive influence on their intention to stay, both directly and through the mediating roles of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Overall, the results provide a comprehensive understanding of the interrelationships among employee engagement, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and the intention to stay. The key takeaway is that when teachers feel valued, involved, and supported by their work environment, they grow into educators who are not only loyal to their profession but also committed to continuously serving and advancing alongside the institutions where they work. Keywords: employee engagement, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, intention to stay, Generation Z teachers.
