Abstract
ABSTRACT Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) are plants cultivated in household yeards to meet basic health and food needs independently. This study aims to identify and analyze the potential of TOGA cultivation in supporting household food security in Grenden Village, Puger Subdistrict, Jember Regency. A qualitative descriptive method was used, with data collected throught observation, in-depth interviews, literature studies, and documentation. SWOT analysis was employed to assess potential and formulate sustainable development strategies. Informants in this study included housewives with home yards, TOGA sellers, and local community leaders selected throught purposive sampling. The results showed that TOGA cultivation holds significant potential to enhance household food security. This is evident from the availability of yard space, local knowledge of medicinal plants, and community awareness of natural health practices and household economy. However, challenges such as lack of training, limited market access, and weak institutional support remain. Therefore, strategies such as community empowerment, sustainale cultivation training, and improved market linkage are needed to optimize the benefits of TOGA in supporting community welfare.
