Abstract

ABSTRACT Based on the background stated, the author wants to formulate the problem as follows: 1. How to apply credit risk management in minimizing problem loans at PT BPR Ambulu Dhanaartha Jember, 2. To find out what factors cause problem loans at PT BPR Ambulu Dhanaartha Jember. The objectives of this research are 1. To find out how risk management is implemented in minimizing problem loans at PT. BPR Ambulu Dhanaartha Jember, 2. To find out what factors cause problem loans at PT. BPR Ambulu Dhanaarta Jember. This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This research took place at PT. BPR Ambulu Dhanaarta Jember. Data was obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. The data that has been obtained is then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. To test the validity of the data using triangulation. The results of this research indicate that credit risk management in minimizing problem loans has been carried out by PT BPR Ambulu Dhanaartha Jember. However, this is still not optimal, judging from the percentage of Non Performing Loans (NPL) in the 2021-2023 period which shows that from 2021 to the end of 2023 it is approximately 11%. This is due to the lack of prudential principles in providing credit and in terms of supervision which is still not effective. The factors that cause problematic credit at PT BPR Ambulu Dhanaartha Jember are divided into two, namely internal and external factors where the internal factors themselves include lack of thorough credit analysis by officers during the survey. Then the external factors are due to natural factors such as crop failure. Keywords: Credit risk management, bad credit.
