Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to find out what sectors are potential sectors in Jember Regency and how much investment is needed to encourage economic growth in Jember Regency and to analyze economic activities or economic sectors that can be developed. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics for Jember Regency and East Java Province with a span of 5 years, from 2017 to 2021. The analytical tools used in this study are Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share (SS), Growth Ratio Model (MRP) and Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICOR) with quantitative descriptive analysis method. The results of this study indicate that there are six potential sectors in Jember Regency from the weighting results based on Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share (SS), and Growth Ratio Model (MRP) analysis, namely (1) Manufacturing, (2) Wholesale and Retail Trade; Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles, (3) Information and Communication, (4) Real Estate Activities, (5) Education, (6) Human Health and Social Work Activities. ICOR calculation results can be used to calculate the required investment needs if the Jember Regency economic growth target is 6.5 percent in 2027, then the potential sector needs to grow by 10 percent.
