Abstract

ABSTRACT PRODUCTION CAPACITY PLANNING USING LINEAR PROGRAMMING METHOD TO OBTAIN MAXIMUM PROFIT IN PIZZA HUT JEMBER RESTAURANT Production is a process of transforming inputs into outputs that add value to a product. Production capacity planning refers to the maximum amount of output that can be produced within a specific time frame. It is also a key factor for a company to support smooth production processes, minimize losses, and maximize profits. This study aims to maximize profits at Pizza Hut Jember restaurant by determining the optimal combination of pizza and beverage menu variants in the restaurant. However, this study uses data on the price combinations per item of pizza and beverage menus since profit data is considered confidential by the company. This research is categorized as quantitative descriptive research. The study was conducted at Pizza Hut Jember restaurant. Data collection was done through primary sources including observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The collected data was then processed using linear programming method with the assistance of POM ~ QM for Windows software. The analysis conducted with linear programming method proves to be able to calculate the total revenue (TR) quickly and accurately to support maximum profit considering the production time constraints for each menu item, both pizza and beverage. The analysis results using POM ~ QM for Windows software show that the total revenue (TR) contributed by each pizza and beverage menu item is Rp6,000,000 for personal pizza, Rp11,160,000 for regular pizza, Rp12,384,000 for large pizza, Rp6,465,000 for iced frappe beverage, Rp10,120,000 for milkshake beverage, and Rp9,520,000 for float beverage.
