Abstract

ABSTRACT ANALYSIS OF FACTORS AFFECTING STUDENTS' DECISIONS IN CAREER SELECTION BECOME EXTERNAL ACCOUNTANT (Case Study on Students of the 2018-2021 Accounting Study Program at STIE Mandala Jember) Accounting Study Program STIE Mandala Jember The career that can be chosen by students makes the career selection process quite confusing, especially with an accountant career. Gender roles, parental influence, financial rewards, labor market considerations, professional training and personality are important factors in making career choices. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence student decisions in choosing a career to become an external accountant. The respondents in this study were a sample of the student population of the 2018-2021 accounting study program at STIE Mandala Jember. The sample used in this study were 77 respondents who were taken using the Slovin formula with the Simple Random Sampling technique. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that financial rewards, labor market considerations, gender roles, parental influence, professional training, personality/personality influence partially and simultaneously on career choice to become an external accountant.
