Abstract

ABSTRACT Welfare is a system of life and social, material, and spiritual life that is filled with a sense of safety, decency and inner and outer peace that enables every citizen to make efforts to fulfill their physical, spiritual and social needs as well as possible for themselves, their household and society. The relationship between the concept of welfare and the concept of needs is that when these needs are fulfilled, a person is considered prosperous, because the level of these needs is indirectly in line with the welfare indicators. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that affect welfare through social culture as an intervening variable. This study uses a quantitative method with a sample technique using path analysis to determine the direct effect and the Sobel test to determine the indirect effect. The results of this study indicate that the variables of education level, family dependents, and productive age have a significant effect on socio-cultural variables and welfare, while compensation has no significant effect on socio-cultural and welfare. For the indirect effect using the Sobel test, it can be concluded that the variables of education level, family dependents, compensation, and productive age through socio-cultural variables do not affect the level of welfare.
