Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the factors that influence the value of companies with financial distress as an intervening variable empirical study on service companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2013 to 2017. The population in this study were 49 companies with sampling techniques using the method purposive sampling with several existing criteria, and there are 8 sample companies to be studied. Data processing method uses path analysis method and uses the help of SPSS 22 tool. The results of this study indicate that the Liquidity variable (X1), and Stock Return (X5) partially influence the Firm Value (Y), while the Leverage variable (X2) , Profitability (X3), and Inflation (X4) does not affect Company Value (Y). The results of the first equation show that liquidity (X1), Leverage (X2) and Inflation (X4) does not partially affect Financial Distress (Z), only the Profitability variable (X3) which has a partial effect on Financial Distress (Z). The results of the t test have shown that the Financial Distress (Z) variable does not significantly influence the Company Value (Y) and is only able to mediate the Profitability variable (X3).
