Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of Compensation and Transformational Leadership on Teacher Performance through Work Motivation at the Al Baitul Amien Jember Educational Institution. The population in this study were all teachers at the Al Baitul Amien Jember Educational Institute. while the sample in this research was selected using a proportional sampling technique. The data in this study were obtained through distributing questionnaires. The testing in this study uses Path Analysis and Sobel Test. The results of this study indicate that there is a direct effect of compensation and transformational leadership on work motivation at the Al Baitul Amien Jember Educational Institute, then there is a direct influence of transformational leadership and work motivation on teacher performance at the Al Baitul Amien Jember Educational Institute. Furthermore, the compensation and transformational leadership variables have an indirect effect on teacher performance through work motivation at the Al Baitul Amien Jember Educational Institute. Based on the test results, it is known that the higher the compensation, the lower the teacher's performance, because the workload will increase even though you get additional compensation. Given that the role of leaders in an organization is very important in improving employee performance, the leadership should increase their influence so that their subordinates are more motivated and confident in carrying out their duties.
