Abstract

ABSTRACT This study is motivated by the issue of suboptimal employee performance at the Secretariat of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD). The objective of the research is to analyze the influence of workload and leadership style on organizational commitment and its impact on employee performance. A quantitative approach was employed using the Structural Equation ModelingPartial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method. The population consists of all employees at the DPRD Secretariat, with a sample of 80 respondents selected through a saturated sampling technique. The results reveal that both workload and leadership style have a significant effect on organizational commitment. Wellmanaged workloads enhance employee loyalty and engagement, while inspirational and supportive leadership strengthens organizational attachment. Furthermore, both workload and leadership style significantly affect performance, indicating that appropriate task loads and effective leadership boost productivity and outcomes. Organizational commitment also plays a mediating role, reinforcing the impact of workload and leadership style on employee performance. These findings highlight the importance of balancing workload, adopting suitable leadership styles, and strengthening organizational commitment as key strategies to improve performance. The study emphasizes that effective management in these areas is crucial for fostering a productive and dedicated workforce within the DPRD Secretariat.
