Abstract
ABSTRACT Transformational leadership has an important role in improving teacher performance, especially in madrasa-based education environments. This research aims to analyze the role of the principal's transformational leadership in improving teacher performance at MTs Nurul Iman. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation and documentation involving school principals, teachers and education staff. The research results show that school principals who implement transformational leadership are able to motivate teachers through a clear vision, provide inspiration, build a conducive work environment, and increase teacher professionalism through guidance and training. Apart from that, a leadership approach based on good interpersonal relationships and giving appreciation also contributes to increasing the enthusiasm and quality of teacher work. Thus, the principal's transformational leadership plays a significant role in creating a better academic environment and improving teacher performance at MTs Nurul Iman.
