Abstract

ABSTRACT Tomato farmers play an important role in the tomato industry, because they are the main source of tomato plants which are used to be processed into various products, taking into account factors such as plant variations, climate and appropriate cultivation techniques. This research examines strategies for developing tomato agribusiness commodities in villages. Krucil, Probolinggo Regency. The problem formulation in this research focuses on the strategy for developing tomato agribusiness commodities in Krucil Village, Probolinggo Regency. The aim of this research is to find out the tomato agribusiness commodity development strategy in Krucil Village, Probolinggo Regency. This type of research uses qualitative descriptive research, and uses sampling techniques, namely snowballing and data collection using methods, observation, interviews and documentation. Direct observation, and reviewing the literature, based on the results of research on tomato farmers in Krucil Village, the tomato harvest has an important role in supporting the family economy, and is very influential due to the factors of age and minimal education as well as the farmers' lack of knowledge in the process of planting tomatoes so that the results harvest is not optimal.
